Cryotherapy in the cold chamber

Cryotherapy is highly effective and gives remarkable results: It provides fresh energy, stimulates the metabolism, strengthens the immune system and supports weight loss. Mayr doctor Dr. Georg Kettenhuber talks about this highly efficient whole-body therapy in an interview.

THE POSITIVE EFFECTS OF CRYOTHERAPY

Only three and a half minutes at minus 110 ° C and you feel like new born. At the cryotherapy, the nerves’ ability to conduct pain is briefly “frozen” by extreme cold. Overstimulated nervous systems (e.g. in chronic pain) experience a pleasant break and can regenerate better. But that is far from all. Whole-body cryotherapy in the cold chamber (cryochamber) relieves pain, inhibits inflammation and has a beneficial effect on the immune system, well-being and performance. The function and healing of joints and muscles are also supported by cryotherapy. That is why it is often used in sport to regenerate after injuries or intensive training sessions. The cold also stimulates the metabolism, which serves to reduce weight.

YOUR VISIT TO THE COLD CHAMBER

Swimwear, gloves, socks, felt slippers, a headband and a mouth-nose-covering mask is the ideal equpiment for your short visit to the cold chamber of the Original FX Mayr. With full-body cryotherapy, you first enter the ante chamber, where you make yourself “comfortable” for 30 seconds at minus 60 ° C. Pre-cooled, you then step into the main chamber, where you move minimally at minus 110 ° C for three minutes. The air is dry – and actually it’s not as cold as it sounds; cooling off in the pool after the sauna feels colder. After leaving the chamber, you will immediately feel a pleasant tingling sensation. It is the first noticeable harbinger of the beneficial effects of cryotherapy.
