FOREST PATHS TO HAPPINESS: MUSHROOM WALKS WITH BARBARA WIEGELE
Satisfy the craving for fresh air and nature with long walks through the Carinthian forests. Our mountain guide and nature expert, Barbara Wiegele, will share her extensive knowledge of mushrooms, trees and berries along the way.
A FEAST FOR THE SENSES
Above us, rustling leaves and swaying treetops. Below us, the earthy path with roots running through it. We enjoy a leisurely walk, our gaze wandering through nature, before coming back to the forest floor. The air is fresh, humid and fragrant. Take time to enjoy the natural fragrances of conifers, like resin, leaves and mushrooms. Blackberries glisten. It’s a real feast for the senses.
CONSCIOUS PERCEPTION AND EXPERIENCE
Barbara Wiegele, our mountain guide and nature expert, takes guests on winding trails to a new, more conscious perception and experience of nature. Her knowledge and passion turns a simple walk in the forest into a glorious treasure hunt - pointing out hidden gems and educating us about the forest and its effects on our emotions. About flora and fauna. About the beneficial symbiotic relationship between mushrooms and trees. And, of course, about the wild mushrooms that we find camouflaged under hanging branches, between blueberry bushes and mosses.
DELICIOUS WILD MUSHROOMS WITH THAT CERTAIN SOMETHING
Our local edible mushrooms, such as bright yellow chanterelles, aromatic parasols or delicious porcini, are small alkaline powerhouses. Besides plenty of vitamin D, they contain potassium, magnesium, iron, selenium and other minerals. That’s why we like using them in our Original Mayr Cuisine.
