TIPS FOR A HEALTHY DIET

A healthy diet is balanced, colourful and varied. On top of that, if you also follow a few preparation tips, use fresh herbs instead of salt and create a relaxed atmosphere during mealtimes, nothing stands in the way of enjoying food and being healthy at the same time 

A COLOURFUL AND BALANCED DIET

A colourful and balanced diet makes an important contribution to our health, as it ensures a stable and healthy intestinal flora. As there are many secondary plant substances that can be found in various types of vegetables, one should eat as wide a range of different types of vegetable as possible.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE PREPARATION

If you have digestive problems, try and avoid cooking with lots of fat. Instead of frying or roasting food, try stewing or steaming it.

REDUCE SALT AND USE FRESH HERBS

It is also important to reduce the use of salt. Instead, fresh herbs and spices should be at home on your plate, for example, Ginger is especially good to stimulate digestion. Always aim to buy herbs such as basil, parsley, chives, etc. as living plants in pots when you go grocery shopping. This way, you can add lots of vitamins to your meals and enjoy some fresh, green plants in your home.

CREATE A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE DURING THE MEAL

A calm and quiet atmosphere during mealtimes will help you to enjoy them even more. In addition, your body can fully ‘concentrate’ on its digestive work without any distractions. Celebrate your food, even if you are dining alone - set the table properly and use your favourite tableware, don’t just save it for special occasions.
